I have my fair share of twin clients and I love them, they are so much fun! I love capturing their individual personalities in their photos. But, I also have to get photos of them together and these boys were just like most of my other twin clients, one runs left and the other one runs right. Getting photos of them together is, well, challenging . . . Ask any twin parent, they'll tell you! That's why they hire me.
I've known these boys literally since the day that they were born and I've known their parents since I was in middle school. When I was in the hospital having Marshall, Nathan ran into their dad in the hallway right after the twins were born, and right before Marshall was born. We spent the next couple of days hanging out and talking babies in our hospital rooms.
This sweet baby boy surprised his parents by arriving three weeks early! When I got to their house, to meet all 6 lbs of this adorable baby, I started pulling out blankets and hats for him and his parents loved all the greens because he comes from an Irish family. He loved being all wrapped up and cozy in the blankets and hats! But, I couldn't wait to take some photos of him in his awesome nursery . . . his crib sheets were so fun!
This sweet little boy just turned 6 months old! I love seeing this family every 3 months to catch up. It was awful cold this particular morning so we chose an indoor location, one that I have never shot at before, and I'm so happy how it turned out . . . of course these adorable boys really sold it!
Senior photos are so much fun!! Especially because I generally know all of the seniors that I photograph personally. So, I love being able to capture their passions and personality for them in such a pivotal moment if their lives, where they moving away from home becoming an adult. The mom in me totally comes out and I get a little sappy thinking about it.
I've been friends with this family for what feels like forever and I've been taking their photographs since they've had children. They wanted to go to a spot that was special to them this year. I'd never been, but was so excited to go and check it out. It was a little frigid the morning that we had scheduled, but the fall colors and the place were absolutely beautiful.
This mama was a little reluctant to meet at 7:00 AM, rightfully so . . . we all like our sleep, but we got it on the schedule anyhow. The day before the forecast said it was going to be cloudy, so we pushed the shoot back by an hour. I was on my way to the location that we had picked when I drove passed this dreamy and fantastical foggy lake. I immediately pumped the brakes, texted the family and told them to meet me there first. I'm so glad they did! I love how wintery and dreamy the photos turned out!
You know, there's something fun about one year olds . . . fun as in, they do what they want when they want. This little man was no different, in fact he was more persistent to do what he wanted. It's not unusual for me to just give the kiddos some space and follow them around to see what they do, which is what I did this session. But, this boy actual set up some pretty cute scenes for me to shoot, and when he got into position (sitting on the curb or stairs) then he would look at me and I could get him to smile. I love how it turned out. So much personality from this one.
I love this quote that the mother found, "Adopting one child won't change the world, but for that one child the whole world changes" This session was so special to this family and me. Their daughters knew that they were in the adoption process, but they didn't know, until the end of the session, that they had a baby waiting for them! It was so sweet when they surprised them at the end with the blue powdered paint to let them know that their baby brother was waiting for them in China. It nearly brought me to tears to see their excitement. I'm so happy for this family and cannot wait to meet their new addition next year.
Talk about a dream come true! When this lovely mama scheduled her session, she e-mailed me and basically said, "Just to let you know... my mom is dead set on having my little take a photo on her and I's horse. I hope that is okay?" Is that okay? Um yes, YES, it is!! In my head, I was jumping up and down with the excitement of possibilities. I had no idea what to expect when I got to their home, I'd never been to their property, never meet the family and had never seen the horse . . . but, I knew that it was going to be fantastic! I got there a little early to scope out a location for the horse photos and the sunset photos. While the mom and I were talking about the horse photos, we ended up picking out a different outfit for her daughter to wear and it was so stinking adorable on her. I'm so pleased with how the photos turned out and the best part the mom and her family absolutely LOVE them!!
Awwww, little girls are so stinkin' sweet, especially this one! I mean, could I please get all of her outfits in my size?!? And those little chubby painted toes, OH.MY.GAWD! She was such a dream to work with & she loved her "modeling" job for the morning.
This wild little boy just turned two & he loves trains, planes, and automobiles. His mom and I searched for a place to thoroughly entertain this little man . . . the Museum of Transportation. He loved exploring the train cars, he wasn't to hip on my photographing all of it, but you can't tell by the photos. His mom may have pulled out a few tricks behind my back to get the last few smiles and it was totally worth it!
How sweet is this baby boy!?! He was giving me some stone cold faces early in the session, much like his funny faces that he was giving us during his newborn session, but this mom and dad had plenty of tricks to get him to smile. Some of my favorite photos are the last photos of the session when he dad was tickling him, his sweet smile is infectious and he looks so adorable in his personalized hat from Landy Knits.
I cannot remember exactly when I started photographing this family, but I know that it's been at least 5 years + 1 more child. I love hanging out with this boys. They're so much fun! Once we had all the posed photos, I told the boys that they could take off their shoes and get into the water . . . They had so much fun finding sticks, throwing rocks, and wading through the cold creek water. I even got in the creek with them :)
We originally had this session scheduled for the evening, but there was a conflict in scheduling and we switched it to a morning session and I'm so glad that we did. The kiddos were "on" this morning! The boys loved their adventure in the woods and their smiles really showed it. They had so much fun collecting pine cones and trying to make their baby sister laugh for her six month photos.
I absolutely adore {LIFESTYLE} sessions! You know how your mother and grandmother tell you to cherish these times with your young family? They’re right! The mundane doesn’t seem so mundane when your kids have become teenagers that are planning to leave the nest! I love to capture your family how they are, doing your daily routine, so you can cherish these “mundane” moments forever!
This family sold their first home super quickly & they wanted photos to commemorate the time that they have spent in this home. Their baby's first home! I went over to their house early in the morning & we started the day with pajamas, coffee, breakfast & chit chat. Then, we let the little lady choose what to do next . . . she wanted to bounce, read books & run around outside. Done! :)
The past year I've really dove into product and food photography & I absolutely love it! I mean . . . it's hard work to photograph and taste delicious kolaches all morning, but somebody has to do it ;) Lucky me!! St. Louis Kolache will be opening in Creve Couer, MO at the end of summer. I had the privilege of photographing their scrumptious kolaches for the website and marketing materials. You are definitely going to need to go when they open. Every kolache I tasted was absolutely delicious!
How perfectly adorable is this baby girl? And, her baby sister? We scheduled this session around dinnertime & bedtime, so I had a few little breaks where I got to spend one-on-one time with each one of these baby girls and it was splendid. Of course, I prefer the newborns to be sleeping during my time with them, but I fully expect a lot of energy from one year olds and this big sister did not disappoint!
This summer's mini sessions were held at Historic Main Street in St. Charles, Missouri. During the time of the mini sessions, this baby boy was turning three months old . . . how does that happen so fast!?! So, I just asked them to come to to the mini session and they agreed. :) We all know that the mini sessions work great for keeping your family photos up-to-date when you have older kids, but they are also great for little milestones and even maternity photos! I had so much fun working with the families on Main Street, I'll definitely be planning one of these every year!
I first meet this family when this sweet baby was only 3 months old, click here to see that session. This time, they choose to meet me on Historic Main St. in St. Charles, which was a completely new place to them. Even though it was bedtime for the princess, she still rocked it. Her favorite part, was standing . . . She's not quite pulling her self up or walking yet, so standing by herself was a fun adventure! I'm sure by the next photo session I'll be chasing her all around because she'll likely be running by then.
No, I have not started booking weddings. I've known this bride since she was 13 years old! She's one of my sister-in-laws best friend. Now, I could share some funny, and embarrassing, photos from back in those days, but instead I will just share with you the images from her beautiful wedding this past weekend. The bride knew that I didn't book weddings, but she literally would not let me say no & I'm glad that she didn't! It's fun to step out of your comfort zone every once in awhile.
We had wonderful weather for this year's spring minis! Here's a few of the beautiful families that showed up.
I have one to two mini sessions each year. The mini sessions are all schedule on one particular day, usually booking 14 families, something I like to call a mini session marathon. This way, I choose a location and families come to see ME, every 30 minutes. Each session last 20 minutes and the families receive 20 photos available in a digital download. It's always a lot of fun, but a very very busy day!
I graduated from high school with this beautiful mom of three & I've been taking their family photos since the oldest was a baby! It is so much fun to see families grow year after year. I was so excited when she told me that they'd be adding a girl to their family, so of course we had to give her the total {PRINCESS} treatment!
Their dad is a huge Cardinals fan, basically the biggest Cardinals fan that I know, and he just had to have this photo of his three kiddos . . . it took a lot of patience, bribing, goofy noises and overall madness to make this photo happen. We did get one where both of their faces were showing, but I thought that this one was simply hilarious!
This mom to be was a real sport at her photo session! I drove her all around our local wildlife area to get all the right shots . . . She had to change clothes on the side of the road, drive quickly to get to the lake with the "perfect" sunset after I got us a little lost and lay in a field. She loved every photo that I took and as a photographer that's the best compliment that I can ask for!
This handsome baby boy decided to surprise his mom, dad, and fur brother by arriving 4 weeks early! We started his session with some family pictures, because he wasn't quite sleepy enough for his individual pictures. He was cracking us up, he was making so many funny faces and totally wide awake. His fur brother was super excited to be able to get into some of the family photos too :)
This adorable family welcomed their third baby boy this past week & I had the pleasure of going to their home and photographing their new addition. The older brothers loved the fact that I came to their house & that they could play their video games while their baby brother was getting his photos taken ;) Getting your picture taken at home is apparently way less painless, ha! This baby boy was a wee three days new and as sweet as can be!
I mean, c'mon . . . the cuteness meter is going to BURST with these sisters! I've been photographing these stunning identical twin girls since they were three months old. I've loved being a part of their lives, their memories & watching them grow. This business that I am in truly is amazing! They had so many great images, it was hard for me to cull through their gallery . . . so this poor momma got a photo overload. I'm sure she's not mad about it though ;)
I meet these girls when they were 3 months old! I cannot believe how fast time has gone . . . We always have fun at our sessions & by "fun" I mean that they run around, I try to keep up and they laugh :) Like I said . . . fun! When we were in Downtown Kirkwood several weeks ago, we were headed to the train station and we came around the corner and saw a large painted mural, one of the girls screamed out "Anna!! Elsa!!" They were both convinced that Anna & Elsa lived in the mural. It was the sweetest thing ever! For the rest of time the prefer for me to refer to them as Anna & Elsa instead of their real names.
This new family is so super sweet and their daughter has some insanely gorgeous baby eyes! Their favorite place to go in St. Louis is Art Hill in Forest Park . . . as many times as I've been to Forest Park, I've never gone to Art Hill. Crazy, right? They were really excited that they got to pick their location for their photos and I was really excited to go to a new (to me) location. I love to incorporate things and places that are special to my clients.
This lovely, adorable, self proclaimed {AKWARD} couple is getting married in Vegas next year. I do not book a lot of engagement sessions, because I do not shoot weddings . . . so, when I get the chance to book an engagement session I get so excited styling them!! This couple loves camping . . . uh, me too! {PERFECT} I had a ton of camping props, so they brought the beer & I brought the props and we had a blast.
This house. These girls. Love them both! When your best friend adds onto her house with an over the top {AMAZING} renovation . . . you sort of put the idea into her head to do a lifestyle session . . . well, at least I do. I'm so happy that she wanted to do it. I do not book many lifestyle sessions, but I do love shooting them. Me & the girls had so much fun! Their mom got them dressed and left us to do our thing. We read books, played with their favorite toys, ate cereal & played with their dog. Oh, and as a bonus, I got tattled on for standing on the chair to take this last shoot, haha! ;)
